Granules, Ground, Densified, Technical Compounds
LucyPlast has been involved in the regeneration of plastics and the production of granules and compounds since 1977. Plastic waste from industrial or post-consumer processing is selected and transformed into polypropylene and polyethylene granules. These new raw materials are either ready to be sold or used for injection moulding of various types of products, furniture components, automotive components, etc.
LucyPlast contributes to the reduction of a great amount of plastic waste and is projected towards the creation of new products that are increasingly tailor-made according to market requirements.
We can split the plastic waste cycle in phases. The initial stage is the called the "collection"; plastic is taken to the first sorting and treatment plants, where it takes place the separation from fractions and impurities, and subdivided by type of polymer. At this stage LucyPlast is ready to buy sources already selected and washed. Weregenerates those by composing blends on customer's specific request.
Through specific processes LucyPlast produces semi-finished products such as densified and ground products and finished products such as granules and technical compounds.
Densified materials
A densified material is a semi-finished product obtained from selected industrial plastic waste which is partially processed, melted and agglomerated. LucyPlast densified materials are an excellent base for the production of technical compounds.
Ground materials
A ground product is obtained by shredding clean and deferenced rigid PP or PEHD plastic waste. LucyPlast ground products are available either in floral, black or coloured variants.
Granules
Granules, mainly PP and PE based, are mainly addressed to producers of rigid industrial packaging, such as crates, boxes and pallets. An alternative use is into the building sector for the production of bituminous sheaths and other products that do not require a particular aesthetic appearance. The granule can be more commonly black and floral, but also neutral, white and coloured.
Compound
What we called a “compound” it stands for a granule with advanced technical characteristics applied in the production of articles with high physical and aesthetic characteristics. LucyPlast compounds are suitable for moulding in the following sectors: automotive, furniture, and floriculture.
