Respect the environment by recovering plastic sources
Lucy Plast consciously chooses to be an ambassador of the Ethical Charter of Packaging to give continuity to its values and to spread the importance of the use of packaging, understood as an asset for the protection of essential and everyday products and as an educational vehicle towards the diffusion of the Circular Economy.
Lucy Plast recognizes that packaging is not a waste but a resource and that it can be recovered indefinitely, if handled wisely.
LucyPlast transforms plastic waste into a resource, purchasing and selecting every day tons of packaging and other types of waste, which it transforms into granules and compounds ready to be used and moulded into other types of 100% recycled and fully recyclable products.
With production increasing from 15 million tonnes in 1964 to 310 million tonnes today, plastic is the third most widespread artificial material in the world. It is well known that its misuse, together with human behaviour with little environmental sensitivity, are extremely harmful factors for our planet. Every year, the pollution caused by plastic reaches increasingly worrying levels: according to Corepla data, only 43.5% of plastic packaging is recycled, while the rest of the waste is sent to landfills and thermo-valorizers.
People's awareness of this issue has certainly grown, but still too many mistakes are made in the selection of the various types of plastics during disposal and collection, as well as a still prevalent use of "disposable" items and non-recyclable and non-recyclable plastics.
